Going to be at the Reunion? Can't make it? Let friends know!

If you can't make the reunion, or will be there and want to find out if other friends will be there, too, feel free to leave a comment here.

We are also inviting our absentee friends to write a short note to be read at the dinner on Saturday night. Keep it short, of course – but fill in some blanks about 1) where you live; 2) family; 3) work; 4) one special memory of WHS; 5) one shout-out to any other alumni who will be in attendance; 6) other news. You can post it below or email your short statements (no specific limit) to Tom Douglas at tdouglas@cdbp.com.

  2. Hello y'all:

This is Paul Levy. Some of you will remember me -- I remember most all of you. It's been 40 years, although it seems like yesterday. I wish that I could come, but as I wrote to those who were trying to organize the multi-class reunion on Classmates.com, this is just not a good weekend for us. It is the last weekend before we send our daughter off to college, and there is too much packing and such to do.

I am in Morehead City, North Carolina, which probably means nothing to most of you, but reminds me very much of eastern Suffolk County when we were in high school. Great beaches, boating and fishing, partially developed, still lots of vacant land. Not far from Margaritaville. I have corresponded with a few of you -- Laura Stenzler, June Cutler, Ken Venick. Life has taken me to North Carolina, Florida, Michigan, Maryland, and back to North Carolina. I met a wonderful person in Kathy during the first time in North Carolina, and we have been together since. We have a daughter, Jackie, who looks like a model and goes off to NC State on August 14. We are in the midst of a transition in which I am living and working in Morehead City and the family is living in High Point, NC, 4 hours away. This has been very tough. We always wanted to move to the beach or the mountains -- the beach won out, but the timing was a little bit off. I have been in the health care sector since 1977, currently as Executive Director of a surgical group here, previously in both medical and hospital management.

Memories of WHS? Well, all memories are special, as memories should be. They are all vivid -- I see all of you without having looked at the yearbook in, well, years. "You're only pretty as you feel," and right now I feel pretty good. I don't feel any 57 and like the rest of us, I don't look any different from when I was 17!

I could go into all sorts of detail, but that might be boring to many. No special shouts because there would be too many, but anyone who wants to say "hi" please send an e-mail to "thelevys@northstate.net"; just do it in the next few months because we may be moving permanently next year.

I'd love to know who attends, so please send me the attendance list. My wife's class (also 1970) developed and keeps updated an extensive e-mail and address database of its much smaller group -- maybe this reunion could be a catalyst to do the same for WHS.

Be safe, be happy, and be healthy.

    Love you all.
